Sokolovna Blížkovice
A building that had stood all but abandoned for years has been transformed into a modern cultural hall. We were involved from the initial concept in 2017 and delivered the complete technology - acoustics, sound, lighting and projection through to stage machinery with our own control software.
From a forgotten Sokol hall to the cultural heart of the town
The Sokol hall in Blížkovice near Znojmo had been decaying for years - a building that was once the centre of community life was practically a squat before the reconstruction. The town decided to restore its original role and build a fully fledged cultural venue for theatre, cinema, concerts and social events.
We were involved from the very beginning. As early as 2017 we helped shape the project concept, and we went on to handle the design work for acoustics, shading, audiovisual technology, electrical installations and stage machinery.
In 2026 we successfully completed the project, including all inspections. The result is a hall with first-class acoustics, a top-tier sound system, stage lighting, rear projection and fully motorised stage machinery, all operated through a control system running our own software.
What we delivered in Blížkovice
From design preparation to final inspections - this single project brings together most of our specialisations.
Design of a functional cultural space
We prepared the comprehensive design of the cultural space from the concept phase in 2017 - covering acoustics, shading, AV technology, electrical installations and stage machinery. The building works, including sanitary facilities, were handled by the general designer.
Hall acoustics and interior
Acoustic ceilings including a printed stretched acoustic fabric that forms the visual centrepiece of the hall. They are complemented by motorised acoustic and blackout curtains, so a single command turns the hall from a concert space into a cinema.
LD Systems MAILA sound and rear projection
The hall is powered by an LD Systems MAILA sound system - the absolute top of its category. For film screenings we supplied a motorised roll-up cinema screen and a projector set up for rear projection, keeping the technology out of sight of both audience and performers.
LED stage lighting
Complete stage lighting built on LED fixtures - theatre spotlights and moving heads on truss structures, operated from the control room via a lighting console.
Stage machinery and textiles
Motorised fly bars, truss structures, curtain track systems, complete stage textiles and a motor-driven main curtain.
Electrical installations, control and inspections
Electrical installation of the entire system including switchboards, and our own stage technology control system with custom-developed software. We concluded the delivery with inspections of both the electrical installations and the stage machinery.
