Theatre Services Pilsen

It was June 1995 when Petr Klér, at the time still an employee of Škoda Plzeň, came up with an idea born of technical skill and a strong inner conviction that something exceptional could arise even "from below". In cooperation with this engineering giant, our first own product was created - the fire-retardant agent Antifire. At the time, no one suspected that this very moment would mark the beginning of the story of Theatre Services Pilsen.

Antifire was made - and is still made today - in our own laboratory. What's more, we still carry out its application ourselves. In 1997 the chemical composition was adjusted and Stopfire was created, a product that quickly found its firm place on the market. In 2006, a third product - Florian - rounded out our range, expanding the possibilities of fire protection. Today, Antifire, Stopfire and Florian form a solid trio protecting cultural venues across the country.

But we didn't stop at chemistry. In 2003 we took on another challenge - sewing curtains and stage drapes. At first in cooperation with suppliers, but from 2006 onwards with our own seamstress. Making things our own way made sense to us. In the same spirit, we started producing rail systems, scarf arms and brackets for stage lighting - things we always had our own idea of and wanted to have exactly as theatres need them.

The year 2008 brought a new generation into the company - Jan Klér, the founder's son, joined. He had known his father's determination since childhood and felt a responsibility to carry on his legacy. From the start he brought new ideas, technological progress and a greater emphasis on systems and growth.

In 2009 we started cooperating with foreign partners, brought quality fabrics and rail systems to the Czech Republic, and soon after expanded our services to include stage lighting and sound systems. In 2012 we became a limited liability company and our operations began to expand in earnest - including the fit-out of ballet halls and the installation of floor coverings.

Since 2014 we have also offered goods and materials through our e-shop, so we can be closer to everyone - small cultural associations and large stages alike. 2015 and 2016 brought new, reliable colleagues to the team - Petr Polanka and Petr Hlavatý - who remain with us to this day and have become an integral part of our everyday work and company spirit.

2017 was a hard year for us. We said goodbye forever to our founder, Petr Klér. But his work, vision and honesty remained in the company's DNA. Jan Klér took over leadership and moved the company into its next stage - with respect for its roots and the courage to look ahead.

From 2018 we moved into further areas - truss structures, mirrors for ballet halls, new scenographic materials and complex fit-outs of cultural spaces. In 2021 we expanded our services to include stage technology inspections, allowing us to offer clients an even more complete service - from manufacturing to operational safety. And since 2025 we have added electrical installation inspections including electrical installation work, to cover the ever-broader needs of modern stages and cultural venues.

2022 was a turning point - we acquired our own premises in Robčice near Pilsen, where we have facilities for administration, production, storage and further growth. This is where we live and create to the fullest.

Today, after 30 years, we feel grateful. Through our work we have helped dozens of theatres, cultural centres, schools and associations. But above all, we have met many inspiring people who believed - and still believe - in us.
