Professional inspections in accordance with applicable standards

Stage machinery is subject to two standards that apply in parallel. Under the European standard EN 17206, which follows on from machinery legislation, an expert examination is carried out every year. The standard ČSN 91 8112 also remains in force, requiring inspections after 2 or 3 years and load tests after 4 or 6 years. Which interval applies to you is determined by the operating category of the cultural venue.

Our inspection examinations include a thorough inspection and assessment of the condition of all stage technology. We focus in particular on stage rigging, lifting tables, traps, and also curtains and backdrop textiles together with their support systems. An important part of the inspection report is a detailed description of the condition of the stage machinery, and where necessary we submit a proposal and repair plan.

In addition to regular inspections, it is also important to carry out an inspection after the installation of new equipment, which we call the initial inspection. It is equally necessary to carry out inspections after reconstruction or replacement of important components. In accordance with standard ČSN 91 8112, other elements such as walkways, ladders and steel structures are also inspected.

Our inspections are not limited to permanently installed stage machinery. They also cover trusses, platforms and lifting mechanisms used to build stages, which event agencies assemble and rent out for their events.
